Studies on Pulmonary Function of Students in the Course of Physical Education

Abstract
Despite the theoretical problems of the water spirometer and its poor frequency response, the water spirometer is adequate for the physiological function tests even in healthy people.
The aim of this study was to report the pulmonary function studies of students in the course of physical education.
Subjects were 170 students from 18 to 22 years of age.
The results are as follows:
1. Frequency of breath: (cycle/min, M ¡¾ SD)
Male students show 13 ¡¾ 3.28 and female students show 17 ¡¾ 4.88. 2. Vital capacity: (1, M ¡¾ SD)
Male students show 4.35 ¡¾ 0.610 and female students show 3.45 ¡¾ 0.683. 3. Tidal volume: (ml, M ¡¾ SD)
Male students show 684 ¡¾ 119 and female students show 677 ¡¾ 198. 4. Breath holding time: (sec, M ¡¾ SD)
